How do factors such as race, gender, dis/ability, and/or culture intersect with school policies, practices, and/or curriculum? You are required to submit 3-4 paged critical reading reflections (Times New Roman, 12 point font, double spaced, adherence to APA formatting). These submissions should not be summaries of the readings, but instead should engage critically with key concepts from the readings, but also those referenced in lecture. You will be graded on your ability to synthesize ideas, critically analyze the readings, cite evidence from the text, build connections to past and present-day schooling, and present an organized, grammatically correct, and thematically sound paper. Please reference the TA for any additional guidelines for assignment submission. Substantive reference to course readings is required. Questions to guide the construction of your critical reflection might include: To what extent do you agree or disagree with the ideas presented in the readings? (Make sure to base this on evidence and not opinion or emotion) How have the readings deepened, challenged, or changed your perceptions about schooling? How have the readings deepened, challenged, or changed your understandings of equity? How, if at all, have the ideas presented in the readings helped frame understandings of experiences you have observed in schools?
