General Instructions: • Choose one of the two prompts below. Write an argumentative paper following the stylistic guidelines. You should draw on academic sources to support your argument. • An argumentative paper advances a claim. Thus, you should state a clear response to the prompt, explain your reasoning, and provide evidence to back it up. The most successful papers will make sure that the argument is clear by the end of the introduction. • You may use and cite any course material – including your textbook and readings from the syllabus. The most successful papers will also incorporate a few additional academic (peer-reviewed) sources. You can find these by searching the library’s website (https://www.depts.ttu.edu/library/) or Google scholar (https://scholar.google.com/). Note: peer-reviewed sources are academic journal articles, books, or book chapters. They are not news sources. Prompt Options (Choose One): 1. Several Latin American countries have completely rewritten their constitutions in recent years.
